Almost three hundred local people have now secured jobs on Weston’s Grand Pier, after a recruitment spectacular dubbed Weston’s Got Talent.

The new jobs, along with the re-opening of the Grand Pier, after the devastating fire of 2008, will provide a shot in the arm to Weston-super-Mare’s economy.

Only one donkey remains to be sponsored before forty decorated donkeys take to the streets of Weston-super-Mare at the end of May. The donkeys, which are made from fibreglass and resin, are being sponsored by local businesses and will brighten up the town during the summer months.

Over 300 Golden Tickets have been sent out to job seekers hoping to secure employment on Weston’s Grand Pier. The ticket invites them to attend the grand finale of a recruitment scheme dubbed “Weston’s Got Talent”.

The 300 plus have been whittled down from more than 2,000 applicants who attended two initial recruitments days for jobs ….
