The Grand Pier has supported a number of charities over the years through a number of different means. This may be anything from donations to charity balls.
British Heart FoundationThe British Heart Foundation is the UK’s number one heart charity and on the 19th October the held it’s ‘Save a Heart Gala’ here at The Grand Pier.
It was a glamorous evening of ball gowns and dinner suits with live music from the one and only Doctor Chocolate.
Bone Cancer Research TrustThe Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) is another charity that the Grand Pier regularly supports. It is dedicated to improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. They aim to do this through Research; Awareness; Information and Support.
The Charity was established in 2006 by a group of bereaved families from the UK and Ireland; they shared a common desire – to see research carried out into this devastating cancer to improved outcomes for future sufferers.
Axentis Michael TrustThe Axentis Michael Charitable Trust started as a small charity memorial to remember the life of local hotelier Axentis Michael, who died in 2003.
The charity raise and distribute funds to worthy causes in our local area and also support the Princes Trust providing funding for start up businesses, again within our local area. It has changed the lives of many including 12 year old Michael McKenzie in donating £38,000 to fund his joint operation in Baltimore, USA.
The charity has raised and distributed more than half a million pounds and this year the trust hopes to take that total to three quarters of a million. The largest fundraising event is a bi-annual Ball which is held here at The Grand Pier.
