Paul Hobbs hoping to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research UK

Continuing his 30 years of fundraising for charity, Paul Hobbs will be walking 30 miles around The Grand Pier to raise vital funds for the charity.

Paul has been inspired to tackle the challenge by his devoted wife Maureen, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Paul’s fundraiser page on the Cancer Research UK website reads: “Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

“Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

“On August 15 I will set out to walk 30 miles around The Grand Pier to celebrate an amazing 30 years of charity fundraising for over 20 charities and hospitals raising over a million. In the process I have made many lifelong friendships and I have enjoyed every minute.

“It has always given me the utmost satisfaction helping others there is nothing more rewarding and it gives me a buzz and you will never find a more self motivated person than myself.

“This special milestone event is in aid of Cancer Research UK and comes at a time my devoted wife Maureen has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

“Maureen has been a huge support to me in every possible way and has insisted and urged I see this what will be special milestone through.

“I want to raise £10,000 for research into all cancers including rare cancers like Maureen’s that are untreatable and incurable, and appeal to everyone who supported me over the years to make this an incredible occasion.

“I would like to thank every single person, company, group, whatever who has supported me from day one during 1994 up to the present so much for all your fantastic loyal support, it means the world appealing to all who have been involved in my events in those 30 years. If it’s possible, come down and join me during the big day for a lap or two.”
