The Grand Pier’s Dani the Donkey Brings Smiles to Young Patients at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children

Dani the Donkey, the much-loved mascot of The Grand Pier, has paid a special visit to young patients at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, bringing big smiles and most importantly, plenty of cuddles to brighten their day.

Joined by members of The Grand Pier team, Dani the Donkey visited several wards, spending time with children and families who are currently receiving care at the hospital.

The visit was made possible by the incredible team at the hospital’s dedicated charity, The Grand Appeal.

Helen Haskell, Head of Fundraising – Corporate at The Grand Appeal, said: ““It’s so lovely to partner with local businesses such as The Grand Pier to bring positivity to the children at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Visits like these are fantastic for all the families we support– we really enjoyed meeting Dani the Donkey!”

To make the visit even more memorable, The Grand Pier generously donated 170 gift packages – one for every bed in the hospital. Each package included a fun activity set, a Dani the Donkey soft toy, and other treats for children to keep as a memento of the special visit.

Katie Michael, PR & Marketing Manager at The Grand Pier, added: “We absolutely love our visits to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Giving back to our local community is so important to us, and the warm welcome we receive from staff and families makes it all the more rewarding.”

Dani the Donkey is now back at The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare, ready to greet visitors throughout the summer season – but promises to return for more uplifting visits in the future.
