For the third consecutive year, on 24 November 2025, The Grand Pier’s resident Christmas menace, the Grinch, swapped his holiday-hating ways to become a certified spreader of seasonal joy!
The Grand Pier team packed up their sleigh, or perhaps just a very big van, and headed straight for the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
The mischievous Mr. Grinch stepped away from his festive duties at The Grand Pier to visit the hospital’s wards, spreading smiles, laughter, and a touch of playful chaos. Joined by Sparkles the Elf, the Grinch spent quality time with each child, creating joyful memories for the patients and their families.

To make the visit even more special, The Grand Pier donated 170 special gifts, one for every single bed in the hospital! From squishy toys to cuddly companions, the team selected presents to ensure every young patient received a dose of festive fun.

Tim Moyle, Director of The Grand Pier, said:
“Seeing the Grinch trade his trademark sneer for genuine festive cheer is always the highlight of our Christmas calendar! While he may try to steal all the donuts back at The Grand Pier, at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, he’s simply fantastic at stealing hearts. We’re thrilled to be back for the third year running, and if Sparkles the Elf can keep him from causing too much playful chaos, we look forward to making this an annual tradition that brings smiles to every brave young patient.”
This heart-warming initiative was made possible with the generous support of the Axentis Michael Charitable Trust, an organisation dedicated to creating positive change in the local community.
Back at The Grand Pier, festive fun is in full swing! Mr. Grinch continues his seasonal mischief with the Grinch Grotto Takeover, while the main man himself, Santa Claus, welcomes families at Santa’s Grotto. Guests can also enjoy the brand-new 2025 experience: Breakfast with The Grinch. Families can join the Grinch and Santa for holiday fun at the pier and experience the magic this festive season.
A special thank you goes to the staff at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, Axentis Michael Charitable Trust, the team at The Grand Pier, and of course Mr. Grinch and Sparkles the Elf. Their dedication and support helped create a magical and memorable day for the young patients and their families alike.
