The Grand Pier has announced the launch of a brand-new Seagull Adoption Programme, giving visitors the opportunity to sponsor one of the town’s cheekiest snack-stealers.
For a one-off fee of £25, participants will receive an official adoption certificate, a photograph of their seagull, and a monthly update detailing its latest mischief. From stolen chips and ice creams to perfectly timed sandwich snatches, these birds have built quite a reputation among locals and tourists alike.
Each adopted seagull will come with its own unique personality profile, including favourite foods, preferred stealing techniques, and notable past achievements. Some are already racking up an impressive list of snack-related incidents, including one seagull, Steven, who has reportedly stolen 17 chips, 3 ice creams and 1 sandwich mid-bite this month alone.
A spokesperson for The Grand Pier said:
“Now you can adopt one of the pier’s cheekiest snack-stealers. Sponsor a seagull, follow its daring exploits, and experience the thrill of your very own snack thief.”
The programme is now available, but adoptions are limited and not every seagull is accepting new sponsors. To find out more, visit this link.
